To date, dermatologist Dr. Tasso Pappas has been in practice for more than 20 years. In that time, he has specialized in many areas, including diverse areas like melanoma and skin cancer, as well as eczema and psoriasis and acne treatments. His work on cancer treatment has included his performance of thousands of MOHS surgeries, which is seen as the most effective treatment for the two most common types of skin cancer, basal cell carcinomas (BCCs) and squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs). As one can see, Dr. Tasso Pappas doesn't practice in one area. He regularly performs reconstructive surgeries for skin cancer, in part because he likes to practice, but also because he believes in providing services to the community. For almost a decade, he has participated in annual melanoma screenings in the Minneapolis-St. Paul region, as a volunteer and he has provided volunteer services as a tattoo removal specialist, helping those who have left behind the gang life lose those reminders of their former life. Dr. Tasso Pappas feels strongly that practicing as a dermatologist makes him something of a detective because he always has to solve riddles and mysteries. He appreciates that he gets to care for patients of all ages and that dermatology is among the few types of medicine in which physicians must understand ailments as they apply to the individual patient, meaning they have to know the patient's history as much as the medical and scientific facts. Dr. Pappas grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and he seems to always know he would help people in his career. Comments are closed.
