There is no way Dr. Tasso Pappas specializes in one thing, really. He’s a dermatologist, but that is not necessarily one single thing. For example, he routinely performs reconstructive surgeries for skin cancer, partly due to his commitment to serving his community. For more than a decade, he has participated as a volunteer with a group that provides annual melanoma screenings throughout the Minneapolis-St. Paul. In addition, he has volunteered to provide tattoo removal services for ex-gang members who have given up that life. The fact is, Minnesota dermatologist Dr. Tasso Pappas has been practicing in his medical specialty for more than 20 years, and along with that, his interests within that specialty are very diverse, including melanoma and skin cancer, of course. He has performed thousands of MOHS surgeries, which is considered the most effective treatment for the two most common types of skin cancer, basal cell carcinomas (BCCs) and squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs). He also treats eczema and psoriasis and he also specializes in acne treatments. Basically, Dr. Tasso Pappas feels that being a dermatologist, or many other types of physician, is much like being a detective, in that he always has to solve riddles and mysteries. He likes the fact that he gets to care for patients of all ages and that dermatology is among the few types of medicine in which physicians must understand ailments as they apply to the individual patient, as well as knowing the actual medial facts and the surrounding science. Dr. Pappas grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and he seems to always know he would help people in his career. To date, dermatologist Dr. Tasso Pappas has been in practice for more than 20 years.
